Art and Enterprise
Who is it aimed at?
Art and Enterprise is a 3 hour morning session aimed at people with learning disabilities who are interested in making and selling. There is no age specification and the group consists of a maximum of nine participants.
What actually happens in the sessions?
Our sessions are designed to facilitate learning through researching and exploring the retail calendar and connected themes. We will develop products to sell and encourage skills which stretch ICT skills, physical skills and understanding of dealing with people and using money. Importance is placed on developing positive and productive relationships through working as part of a team.
How do participants benefit from it?
Participants will develop their personal and social skills, money handling, planning and making. Increased self-esteem and pride in their work. The participants will be encouraged to make items to sell at various local outlets.
